Purchased this computer a little over a year ago. Everything was fine until one day it didn't turn on. Took it to a computer specialist who after much troubleshooting determined that there was an issue with the motherboard. I no longer have a warranty on the laptop becuase OF COURSE as soon as it expired the computer died. Upon google searching my issue I have found many other people with the same problem. HP customer service agent told me to just walk away and buy another laptop BUT NOT FROM HP, and I assume for obvious reasons. BUT I would prefer to fix the problem on my own. Does anyone know of a place to purchase a new motherboard for the laptop?

Need the full Model Number or Product Number.
Yes motherboards are available either from HP itself or from a third party source. Lots of different laptops marketed as x360 is why we need the full model number to properly identify the motherboard and also find the right Manual. Motherboard is likely to cost $275-400 or perhaps more as the processor is part of the motherboard, making it expensive. There are also services which will "rework" the motherboard and replace defective chips. Those services run just a bit less than a replacement motherboard.

2 entirely different markets. Whole computers are subsidized by software trials and other considerations. No such support for replacement parts, which have to be made and stored for long periods of time. In any event, people who tell you it is perhaps better to just buy a new computer are aware of this. If you have to pay labor to replace a motherboard, forget about it. Your cost will wind up being 80% the cost of a new laptop. If you can do the labor yourself and if you can find a good deal on a motherboard then it might make sense but until we know the part you need there is no way to know exactly what it will cost. I do this all the time and am generally pretty good at finding the best prices on replacement parts but often there is no great deal to be had.
What did you imagine a replacement motherboard was going to cost?

Same exact thing happened to me as well. My Envy x360 simply wouldn't turn on one day, and I was unable to fix it. After searching for error codes that are signaled by the flashing sequence of the power button, I got a very generic error code with no solution.
Like you said, this happened JUST AFTER my warranty expired.
I went to a pc repair shop, and they determined it to be a motherboard issue, saying that it was unrecoverable and that I would be best off just buying a new computer. I only had the computer for a year.
