HP ENVY m7 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought my laptop in the US in December 2016. However, I live in Japan. I have two issues.

1: The battery no longer works and the device requires a power source

2: A part of one of the screen hinges has broken off and now the screen on that side has pulled away. The screen still works (perfectly visible and touch still effective). But, I can't close the computer without cracking anything.

An issue I have here is potentially being told they don't have the necessary parts I may need to have this laptop fixed. Calling the HP line is giving me an automated message that further leads to another automated assistant which helps in no way. I would like to know what my best option is for repair and if it is worth the repair. There's nothing wrong with the laptop aside from these issues.

@tenn48 you may order the replacement parts on the HP Parts Store, If you've already looked for it and couldn't find it on the HP Parts Store, you may want to get it locally at the online store such as Amazon or eBay, etc...as the part numbers are universal.

Or, If you have an HP authorized service center near by, you should be able to take it to them and have it checked,

Here is a link to HP Service Centers, by Country/Region: Click here

P.S: Welcome to HP Community 😉

If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.
