HP Envy Laptop makes cracking sound when the screen is open, and the screen is wobbly.

I've had my hp envy laptop for a little over a year, but this problem started probably half a year ago. My laptop makes a loud pop/cracking noise when it is opened. This, I believe, it due to the pressure of opening the laptop actually pulling the bottom and top of the laptop apart (I can see it happening when I lift up the screen. Does anyone know how to stop this from happening? I originally didn't mind it too much but now it is obvious to me that it's getting worse. It's definitely deterred me from buying another hp laptop if they're so flimsy that their own screens pull them apart.
