Not sure the model number, but it is a HP Envy. The DVD ROM spins and device manager recognizes drive, but it’s ejects. When you open the drive, it just spits it out. It ejects and gives a message saying insert disk. We used two drives, same thing! I uninstalled device and also uninstalled driver and restarted. Same thing. I was thinking board issues, but device manager recognizes drive and it’s not the drives because it runs. What do you say??

Do you mean 2 discs ? Looks like it can't read the discs, what are they ? Have you tried a normal CD musics disc or a normal DVD movie ? What is your HP Envy ? Please use the following way to find out:

Your machine has TWO drives or from 2 different machines ? If from 2 different machines what is the software do you normally use on your machine ?

It’s just the CD drive. The first time it did it, I assumed it was the drive. Then I had them buy another matching numbers and all and computer does same thing. You try to play disk and it ejects and say insert disk.
