I am having the same exact problem.  Have had it about a year and a half and now my hinge is broken and the top is separating from the bottom!  I can't believe there hasn't been a recall or something with the amount of people that are having this issue.  How do I fix this?  The computer was too expensive to just not fix.

Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
