I have been having problems with my HP Envy notebook's keyboard since I purchased it in January of this year. It stops working over a period of time, and I have to reboot the computer sometimes, several times within an hour, in order to use it. I have sent it out to HP several times, and the keyboard and motherboard have been replaced, but still, it keeps happening.
I have recently discovered that the majority of the times when the keyboard stops working is after I have used the down arrow key repeatedly when scrolling on a webpage. I have tried adjusting the keyboard sensitivity and playing with the scroll lock, but none of this works, or if it does, not for a long period of time. I have updated the BIOS as well.
I am able to still use the mouse pad if that helps.
Is there anything that I am missing? Why is the down arrow causing the rest of the keyboard to shut down?

Just received a newly built envy 17" and have had the keyboard stop working. will return after a reboot but shouldn't have to reboot the laptop every time this happens. I do periodically use the arrows to scroll as it can be easier than scrolling with the touch pad. I haven't tested it thoroughly to recreate issue but last time I may have been in the middle of scrolling this way when it stopped working. I'd appreciate HP putting some eyes on this issue as I've found other posts of users with this same issue unanswered.
