MY HP ENVY 13-ah0001na touchpad has suddenly stopped working. I opened my laptop today and heard a little 'click' sound coming from the touchpad, then found that when the laptop is resting normally the touchpad no longer works - it registers as if I'm constantly pressing down on the touchpad.
I assume this is a problem with the laptop hardware as, if I press my hand very hard to the underside of the laptop (below the touchpad), the touchpad makes the same 'click' noise, briefly fixes and can be used again. However, once I stop pushing the underside of the laptop the touchpad once again registers as if I'm constantly pressing down on the touchpad. Strangely, the touchpad does not look like it's stuck being pressed down, possibly meaning the thing broken is inside the laptop casing?
Have already used the HP Virtual Agent to trty and solve the issue, but it didn't help, adding to my belief that this is a hardware issue.
Would appreciate any help. Alternatively, I purchased a HP care pack alongside my laptop - if I should use that service to get my laptop fixed, please tell me how. Thanks.

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.
I have gone through your Post and I understand your concerns
This seems to be a Hardware issue.
I have sent you a private message with the next course of action
Meantime I suggest you run a Hardware diagnostic on the Touchpad to confirm the Hardware functionality
- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Touchpad
Thank you

Hello I am also currently having the same problem. I have put up with it for several years but if this is a known design flaw from HP then I would like to be compensated as I have been a loyal HP customer but this computer is absolute garbage
