HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-ew0000 (549V7AV)

Hello,

I have an HP Envy x360 that is approximately two years old. The right hinge suddenly broke during normal use, causing a significant gap between the screen housing and the laptop frame. The metal hinge is now exposed, and the screen appears to be separating from its mounting points.

The laptop has never been dropped or subjected to any accidental damage. This happened unexpectedly while opening it normally.

After researching the issue, I noticed that other HP Envy x360 owners have reported similar hinge failures. I'm concerned that this may be a known manufacturing or design defect rather than normal wear and tear.

Unfortunately, my warranty has expired, but I don't believe a laptop that's only two years old should experience this type of structural failure during normal use.

Has anyone experienced this issue and successfully had HP repair it? I would also appreciate HP reviewing this as a potential manufacturing defect and offering a complimentary repair despite the expired warranty.

I've attached photos showing the damage.

Thank you!ChatGPT Image Oct 21, 2026, 08_05_28 PM.jpg
