I have an HP ENVY x360 - 13-ay0001ns with exactly the same problem on the left hinge.

 

I am gutted. Today I tried to close my beautiful black laptop and the bottom left-hand corner of my screen simply splintered as the left-hand hinge stayed in the open position and the right-hand hinge folded exactly as it was designed to do . Hideous, even more so as exactly the same thing happened to me with my HP Spectre XT 132112TU in 2014... We have 7 HPs in our family, I am seriously concerned about the other 6 now. I took out an extended guarantee through an HP Care Pack which covers me until June 2023 so I truly hope that HP here in Spain replaces BOTH hinges under the guarantee. I will keep you posted.
