The part that breaks is part of the display case. The OP indicated HP also replaced the screen lid (the outer display case) and so both sides should be like new. Unfortunately if HP hasn't changed the attachment mechanism (which is a very thin small strip of plastic bonded to the outer display case and the hinges screw into this very thin plastic), it could very easily break yet again.
I'm very happy the OP (Roops_B) persevered but there is NO SANE REASON that HP should be suggesting such damage is accidental. There is also no reason any consumer should have to continually call customer support and beg for help or be made to pay for what appears to be a major design flaw. Use metal to bond to metal.

I have been struggling with my hinge for a while now. Sadly, no proper support for hp in my country. The bad hinge has broken 2 screens and I am looking for the third screen. HP Envy x360 isn't worth the hype
