Hi, I have the same issue on my Envy x360. Guarantee has expired just one month ago and the Left Hinge has broken simply closing it! I'm from Italy and there is no authorized Support Center in my country! the supplier where I purchased it replied that it cannot be fixed because there are no available spares! is it possible? can you please help me? the PC is quite new (I brought it just one year ago) and works perfectly.

Thanks

I have this same problem with my HP Envy x360 15m-ee0013dx that I purchased in November, 2020. The left hinge just popped when I was closing it as normal, and a screw came out. I can see how it is no longer attached to the plastic. This really looks like a cheaply made part and a serious design flaw. For a computer that is less than two years old this is very disappointing. I buy a lot of computers for work and am considering no longer purchasing HP Envy laptops any longer if they are unwilling to stand behind an issue like this. I am very careful with this laptop and treated it carefully. I there any more assistance that anyone can provide, perhaps a link to instructions on how to glue it myself perhaps?

Our laptop, an HP Envy x360 Convertible, model: 13-ay0008ca has experienced the same left hinge failure as others on this forum thread. Of course the laptop is now only 28 days out of warranty. The hinge popped right of the screen and those tiny screws went missing of course. Could someone from HP please reach to me as others have requested. This poor design flaw isn’t acceptable on a $1300 laptop. Now my child is without their school computer and I have nothing to give them.

Hi

I have the same problem, with my laptop which has literally never been out of home and sat on my office desk all the time.

Yesterday I closed the screen, and when re-opening, the right hinge popped-out and crack my screen!

There is clearly a design flaw and I can't believe HP is asking for money to repair it! That is totally illegal in or out of warranty!

These $1300+ laptops should last for at least 5 years! At that price I thought I was buying quality and reliability...

I have the same problem as all people here. The left hinge in my HP ENVY x360 is broken after only 1,5 year of gentle use. I never dropped or hit my laptop. I carried my laptop in a padded laptop case.  My 1-year warranty is finished. I always used HP computers/laptops, they all were reliable and served me a long time. This laptop is the most expensive laptop I ever owned because I needed it for my work and trusted HP. I am so disappointed! HP should do a callback on these laptops. There are so many people who complain for the same reason.  I think the replacement of the defective part with the same non-quality part will not solve the problem 😞

My laptop in 3 month past the warranty period and the hinge broke. This is very bad quality product that hp is selling. I called your support and have been given the run around that it's out of warranty and good luck. One thing for sure I am never buy hp again.

Thanks for sharing your experience,  for me the hinge had started damaging my screen . When u took the laptop apart,  I found exactly same issue as u explained. The hinge was fine but the plastic I which it was screwed had broken into pieces.  My only option was to attach it back woth super glue. So far it's still holding but this is definitely a design flaw.

Unfortunately for me, the detached hinge broke my screen which has now lost touch sensitivity in some areas along the damaged area . I opened the laptop and ended up using super glue to attach the hinge back on the laptop casing as the screws could not screw back in the broken plastic. Although the glue is working well to keep the hinge in place , my screen is now damaged and I need to consider replacing it in future if I am to use the touch functionality.  HP needs to revise the design of their Envy x360. For its price. This is kot supposed to happen.

I have exactly same problem with Hpx360 laptop. Exactly after expiry of warranty, right side hinge of display got broken and screw came out. Now I am unable to fold the laptop screen. As it is so costly, I handled it very carefully and no accidental falling happened. While enquiring with HP, it cost around Rs. 29000, approx 40% cost of new laptop. It is really manufacturing deffect and quality issue.

I am waiting HP for taking cognigence of this type several issues with hpx360.

This has also happened to me but I have purchased from a third party provider and they want me to pay for the repairs
