I have had this computer for a while -- a year I believe. No drops. Always used and transported with care. Used it today in tablet mode (something I rarely ever do), and the right side of the screen (where the time and date are) popped out of the screen. I see that this is a very common issue and want to know the next steps I should take. I'm afraid to close my computer out of fear of making it worse.

Wow, judging from how many people have this same problem, I guess I've been really lucky up until now. Unfortunately, I have the exact same issue on my 15" Envy x360. When I opened the screen yesterday, I heard a pop from the right hinge and the screen pulled away from the top lid. The right hinge is now loose and a screw fell out from the crack between the screen and the lid. It looks like it was screwed into plastic and the plastic broke as there is still a small piece of plastic attached to it.
Considering the number of reports, this is definitely a design defect with the hinges. My computer is out of warranty but is there something HP can do?

@Alasia-M I hope you had good luck getting your computer repaired. I received DM from support simply saying that they are not repairing computers at this time and offering a small discount on a new machine. I talked to parts to see if I could apply the discount to the parts I need, but they would not help so I am stuck with ordering the parts at full retail price and repairing my laptop myself.
This is my second HP laptop but I'm afraid it will be my last. I expect a laptop to last more than 3 years without a major problem. I can replace the display cover in this case but judging from numerous reports on this forum, I am worried the screws may also pull out of the bottom case at some point.
Very disappointing.
