HP ENVY x360 Laptop -15t-ed000 CTO

Hi,
I purchased an HP Envy x360 coming up on 2 years ago, and I have had no problems with it other than it getting hot until 2 days ago when one of the hinges on the laptop started to break. I have not dropped the laptop or anything, and when I brought it in to get evaluated, the fix was appraised at $200. My warranty ran out last September, but it is clear that quite a few people have had issues with hinges breaking based on other forum posts. The hinge design is not the greatest

$200 is actually a pretty good price for a repair. The parts are not costly but the labor is rather involved. I will also escalate to see if HP can offer help. I am a fellow end user.

@matgray007, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I see that the Notebook has to be serviced and repaired. As this is a hardware issue,

Hi Matgray007,

Along with many others, my hinge broke and I am a few months out of warranty,

I entered a Post on the forum and rec'd a personal message from HP Support which directed me to their hardware support tel#. But when I call, the automated system will not transfer me to a representative unless I pay a $50 fee.

I really don't want to pay $50 if they are simply going to tell me I'm out of luck.

Question #1 - Can you let us know if you were able to speak with a HP Representative and if they were willing to fix your laptop even though it was out of warranty?

Question #2 - If they were willing to fix, then how long did it take?

Thank you and have a great day  🙂
