Microsoft Windows 11

so i basically have 16gb ram right now (2x8gb ram). and both of these sticks are 3200mhz. the problem is that it only works in 2133mhz, even tho it says in the manual that the model i have supports 2400mhz. i assumed that if i have 3200mhz sticks, that ram speed would be at the max supported speed which is 2400mhz, but it only downclocks at 2133mhz. im aware that there's literally 0 ways to change ram speed in this model and there's no way to access the advanced options in the BIOS so im def stuck at 2133mhz. Tho i was interested as to if i buy two 2400mhz sticks, would 2400mhz finally apply? or do i just need atleast ONE stick of 2400mhz to make it work?

@2018lebron, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query

If you buy two 2400 MHz sticks, they will likely run at 2400 MHz. You don’t need to have a 2400MHz stick paired with a 3200MHz one, but both sticks should match to run at 2400MHz.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
