Hi. My HP Laptop 15s is not charging. I have tried plugging in the ac adapter, it will blink red once but it's gone afterwards. The laptop won't turn on as well. We're trying to charge it for about 3 days now. I lost the receipt so I can't go to the store where I bought this 11 months ago.

Hi @lynnnnn,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing a power-related issue with your HP Laptop 15s. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Check the AC Adapter and Power Source

  • Verify the outlet: Ensure the wall outlet you're using is working by testing it with another device.
  • Inspect the AC adapter: Check for any visible damage on the AC adapter and the charging cable.
  • Test the adapter: If possible, use another compatible AC adapter to see if the laptop charges.

Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Disconnect all devices: Remove any external devices connected to your laptop (USB drives, external monitors, etc.).
  2. Remove the battery (if possible): If your laptop has a removable battery, take it out.
  3. Press and hold the power button: Hold it down for 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  4. Reconnect the battery and AC adapter: Reinsert the battery (if you removed it) and plug in the AC adapter.
  5. Attempt to power on the laptop.

Inspect the Charging Port

  • Look for debris: Check the charging port for any dust or debris that might be obstructing the connection.
  • Inspect for damage: Ensure there are no bent or damaged pins inside the port.

Check for Battery Issues

  • Battery reset: Some laptops have a small reset button on the bottom, often reachable with a paperclip. Press it for a few seconds.
  • Battery removal: If the battery is removable, try powering the laptop with only the AC adapter connected (battery removed).

Power Reset

  • Disconnect the AC adapter: Unplug the adapter from the laptop and the power source.
  • Hold the power button: Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  • Reconnect and try again: Plug the AC adapter back in and attempt to power on the laptop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
