I've tried updating and uninstalling/reinstalling everything I can think of and still no charging and external monitor through an HP USB-C Essential Dock G5. Are ther any other driver updates I can do to make this work or did I waste my money on the dock?

did you check your bios to see if your usb c port has an option for Display port and dock usage?

HP Recommended

I have not, let me check that and I'll post another reply. Thanks for the quick response!

good news is the Dock is just fine, Bad news is your usb-C is limited to 5gbs and no charge support through usb-c still need to have the barrel plug for charge support. in order to have usb-type c display you would need to have the 10gbs port on your laptop!

Is that an easy thing to change myself?

its proprietary to the motherboard of the laptop and the generation of cpu! are you trying to run a 3 monitor set up?

HP Recommended

No, only two. I have an HDMI splitter coming that I ordered in case this wasn't fixable. I appreciate your help with this.
