HP 14 inch Laptop PC 14-d3000 (2P5F3AV)

This laptop does not have enough memory on the hard drive 56 gb. I want to put in a larger drive, but I get no answer from HP if this model is upgradeable. Dr. Google answers: yes it can, and has a video of a different model; and another answer saying another similar model  cannot be upgraded. This was a cheep computer, and it served its original purpose. That purpose is finished. Can I upgrade it to make it useful?

@Paul_Tikkanen the only thing I found odd in the Manual is that there is a part number given for the 64 gig eMMC module. That is unusual and implied to me that its removeable and replaceable. But as you noted, this is a Manual for somewhat earlier version of this model series and there is no image of the eMMC. It also appears that the eMMC versions do not have a unique motherboard.

The Service Manual is not the clearest:

What I take from it after reading hundreds of these Manuals is that the eMMC (storage module) on your model is removeable. I believe the interface is not an M.2 but the eMMC could theoretically be upgraded if you can find a larger capacity eMMC module. Might want to see this...it's more of an explanation than a solution:

Hi:

Your notebook comes with one memory slot.

You should be able to upgrade the memory by replacing the 4 GB memory chip with an 8 GB memory chip.

This should be a compatible 8 GB chip:

Crucial 8GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM | CT8G4SFRA32A | Crucial.com

Unfortunately, HP only has the service manual for the first model series available (14-dq0xxx).

I'm fairly sure that the notebook has a M.2 SSD slot, but in the older model covered by the above service manual, the slot is disabled on the notebooks that came with the 64 GB eMMC flash drives.

So, the question is...does the new model series have the M.2 slot present and activated, and that I do not know.

You can try a M.2 SATA SSD in the slot if you can buy one that you can return if the slot is still disabled.

Something like a Western Digital Blue SA 510 M.2.

NVMe SSD's would not be supported in the models that come with the Pentium Silver processors.

There is no way to enable the slot if it is disabled.

Thanks, to all for the assistance. It looks like going cheep to start limited my options now.
