My new (one month old) laptop will not recognize the built-in SD card reader. The SD card (and another one) works in my Chromebook. I have downloaded a card reader driver from the HP website but no help. I chatted with customer support and they had no other solutions except do a clean reinstall of Windows 10 or send the laptop back for repair. Surely there are other options. Any suggestions appreciated.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I reviewed your post and I understand that you are facing issues with the SD card reader on the computer.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
- Have you tested by different SD cards?
- What is the capacity of the SD card?
Meanwhile, I recommend you follow the steps in the below article and check if it helps.
