Microsoft Windows 11

hi i bought a hp mpp 2.0 pen, the one where it is rechargable with a c cable, and has two buttons. it should work straight out of the box, but it doesn't. it is fully charged, since the diode is white. i tried already lots of fixes, and few hp apps don't seem to recognize the issue. the device manager seems to recognize that the pen is somethat connected, but no input is being recived.

Hi  @V0rr13d

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I appreciate the detailed information you've shared. I understand that your HP MPP 2.0 Rechargeable Pen is fully charged and detected by the system, but it is not responding to input as expected. I'll be glad to help you work through this.

To better understand the situation, could you kindly share the following details?

  • Does the pen tip produce any response at all on the screen, such as cursor movement, inking, or selection?
  • Are the side buttons functioning in any application?
  • Have you tested the pen in applications such as Microsoft Whiteboard, OneNote, or Paint?
  • Is the touchscreen itself working normally when using your finger?

In the meantime, kindly try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Restart the HID Devices
    • Open Device Manager.
    • Expand Human Interface Devices.
    • Locate entries such as HID-compliant touch screen, HID-compliant pen, or Intel Precise Touch Device.
    • Right-click each device, select Disable device, then Enable device again.
    • Restart the PC and test the pen.
  2. Check Windows Pen Settings
    • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Pen & Windows Ink.
    • Verify that Windows detects pen-related settings.
    • Test whether button actions can be configured.
  3. Test in a Different User Profile
    • Create a temporary Windows user account.
    • Sign in and test the pen to determine whether the issue is related to a Windows profile setting.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
