The HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor still worked good in Anniversary Update, but after I updated to Creators Update, it can't be used again. This Windows 10 version of HP MDP which I downloaded in the HP's website. I've reboot and even reset the PC, but the problem cannot be solved. Please help!

Hi, @QThi :

There is no fix for the hardware revision of the HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor your notebook has at this time.

The driver that GBL84 posted is for the newer version of the 3D driveguard, and won't work for your model.

The lastet version of the 3D driveguard driver can be found on your notebook's support page (sp71714).

I don't believe that reinstalling the driver will resolve the problem.

I suggest you report the bug to Microsoft.

Or you can contact HP at the link below and report the issue.

Hello @QThi,

Please try this and see if that works !!

Open the Windows Control Panel, select Programs and Features, right click the entry for the HP 3D DriveGuard, and select Uninstall.

When this has completed, restart the notebook.

When you are at the Windows desktop, download and install this version of HP 3D DriveGuard at the link below, and restart the PC.

Hello @QThi,

Thank you for your reply !!!

It's a safety feature related to the hard drive.  If the Mobile Data Protection Sensor detects your notebook is falling, it instructs the HDD to park the drive heads in an attempt to prevent damage to the drive.

I've installed Windows 10 Technical Preview on several machines and not found any issue with this, although it's possible you may need to install an updated driver ( this is provided by HP 3D DriveGuard software ) when you upgrade to 10.

Please try this : https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-elitebook-folio-9470m-ultrabook/527114...

If the above doesnt work, Please try this :  ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp75501-76000/sp75979.exe

Use same steps as provided earlier
