17-bs051od
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello Everyone,

I recently purchased a  HP 17-bs051od and I'm wondering what upgrades I can put into this laptop. I'm mainly focused on the  processor and the ram. This PC came with 6GB of DDR4-2400 ram and a Core i3 7100U Processor. Can I upgrade these 2 things?

Firstly for RAM: Your machine supports 32GB of RAM on 2 slots (2 x 16GB) Ii has 4GB + 2GB now. You can upgrade to 8GB, 12GB, 16GB, 20GB 24GB or 32GB. It is much better to have BOTH slots have same amount that means total 8GB, 16GB or 32GB. The following RAM products are compatible

     https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/hp-17-bs051od/CT11652413  (2x16GB)

     https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/hp-17-bs051od/CT11588937   (2 x 8GB)

For CPU: Sorry you can't, CPU is soldered to the System board which contains

       (a) Motherboard,

       (b) CPU with integrated video,

       (b) Video (if applicable),

       (c) Operating system.

All above 3 or 4 components are on one piece of hardware called System board. That means you can upgrade to other CPU (if available) but very expensive.

Regards.
