HP Notebook
Product #: 1BQ18UA#ABA
Hi,
This is the name and product # of my Notebook 17-x173dx
I keep hearing conflicting information on maximum RAM upgrade.
the definitive information:
2 slots, with one 8 GB card.
Windows 10 Home - 64 bit.
some answers tell me that I can upgrade it with an additional 8 GB card to 16 GB.
( that is if it depends on the motherboard. )
I have also seen information that if it is running the 64 bit version of Windows 10 Home, then i can upgrade all the up to 128.
While i highly doubt it will go to 128, would i at least be able to go to 32 or 64 ?
( that is if it depends on the OS.)
Thank you very much !!

Hi:
Below is the link to the crucial memory report for your notebook.
https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-17-x173dx
The max is 2 x 8 GB.
The windows spec only refers to how much memory a PC is allowed to run on a particular version of Windows.
The PC's hardware determines how much memory the PC can actually run.
