Microsoft Windows 11

I received for my HP Omen 15 laptop (Model: 15-en0001ax). The laptop experienced a malfunction where a component, identified as a [burnt component name -  as hp service center is power supply cheap], appears to have burnt out. An authorized HP service representative inspected the laptop and provided a repair estimate of ₹12,000 (Rupees Twelve Thousand). I find this cost to be quite high, especially considering the nature of the issue. Also they are saying there is 50 % chance of repair WhatsApp Image 2024-04-03 at 12.49.34 PM.jpeg

Actually that is a good price for the repair replacement of the  TPS51395 TI  Texas Instruments Power Management chip. That is @$143.00 USD.

You couldn't get a better price on the IC component repair here in the US.

If that TPS51395 TI  Texas Instruments Power Management chip is not replaced, the battery won't charge and the laptop probably won't power on either.

The 50% chance of repair is because at the  chip's solder points there might be places where it  burned through to other layers of the system board.  The board probably has five layers or more.

Having the repair attempt would be well worth the expense since it is considerably less than 50% of the cost of replacement of the laptop.

That is what I have used as a lifelong benchmark value when I decide to repair, or have repaired or replace a big ticket item like a laptop.  It keeps me from wasting money.
