Hello, I have been using my HP Omen 17" laptop for ~4 years now and recently I have started to pay attention to one detail, that has started to happen 2-3 years ago - swollen battery. Accidentally I have ran into some articles that are saying to not use devices with swollen batteries, because they can explode. I have even looked at some videos on youtube and it looks very dangerous. Now I feel really worried about the laptop, but on the other hand I've read on HP website, couple of other manufacturers websites, that it shouldn't be safety issue, if only that it can damage other parts (I don't really care about touchpad/keyboard) + It has been like that for 2-3 years at least
Overall battery is not heating, laptop is always being connected to the power socket and closed, however my questions are:
Is it safe/unsafe to use ? Are chances high, that it can explode randomly one day ? And, is HP offering any kind of restitution regarding this, keeping in mind that laptop is out of warranty ?
Thank you for responses in advance!
