I bought a HP Omen gaming laptop about 18 months ago and am having some issues. First off the keyboard will occasionally stop working. The lights will all stay on but the keys don't work and the caps lock light will flash. Normally a reboot will fix the issue but it seems to be happening more frequently.
Also the other day, I unplugged the laptop and it immediatelly shut off. I restarted with it plugged in and the battery was fully charged but I was getting a message that the laptop was plugged in but not charging. I unplugged it again and it shut off again. This is a recent development as I have never had any issues with this in the past and it has started doing this out of the blue.
I mainly use the computer for moderate gaming as most of my games aren't too hardware intensive and I have the I7-7700HQ with the 17" screen, RX580, 1TB HD, and 12GB Ram.

Welcome to HP Support Community,
Let's try these steps here:
Uninstall and Reinstall Keyboard drivers:
Right click start> left click device manager expand Keyboards right click on the mentioned keyboard driver and left click on uninstall. Then restart the computer.
Have you tried to uninstall the battery drivers from Device manager?
Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.
Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.
Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager,
Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.
Also, Go through them all and let me know what you have determined is causing the issue.
The first document has the most relevant troubleshooting if your battery appears to be not charging.
Battery Does not Power Notebook or Hold a Charge
Next thing, I would suggest here is to update the BIOS and the Chipset drivers to the latest version using the Official HP website for drivers and downloads: Click here to find it.
Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.
Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.
If the issue persists, I would suggest you run the Windows update troubleshooter.
Download and install the troubleshooter from this link.
Now try to perform a Windows update:
1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
Let me know how it goes!
Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
