My HP omen laptop does not work when I connect the AC adapter. It works on the battery though and boots fine and everything. But as soon as I connect the AC adapter, it starts charging for 30 seconds and abruptly switches off. To give you some more context, I'll list the previous issues I've had with my laptop and the services it's been through:
1. Had a battery replacement warning after which I replaced the battery.
2. A few days after battery replacement, I upgraded the BIOS.
3. Immediately on BIOS upgrade, the above mentioned issue appeared, i.e switching off on plugging in the AC adapter.
4. Took it to the nearest PC repair center, they said that the BIOS chip got damaged and asked me to replace it. Spent INR 4000/- on that.
5. For roughly one and a half months, laptop was working fine, until today. All of a sudden the same issue resurfaced.
Please help me, what do I do?

I reviewed your post and I understand that the laptop shuts down when you connect the charger.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
Have you tested the computer with a different charger?
Meanwhile, I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check if it helps.

If you continue facing the issue, then reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager.
Here is how you do it.
Step 1: Click the Windows “Start” button and right-click “Computer.”
Step 2: Click “Manage,” then “Device Manager.”
Step 3: Click the “Batteries” section. A list of devices will appear.
Step 4: Right-click the “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” device and click “Uninstall.”
Step 5: Click the “Action” menu item and “Scan for Hardware Changes” to reinstall the driver.
Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

@The_Fossette
Thank you for your quick reply. The issue got fixed by itself which was quite a pleasant surprise for me. I'm not really sure how that happened. If you could maybe shed some light on that, that would be great.
Thank you for the solutions you proposed, I will definitely keep them in mind if this issues resurfaces.

Perfect, I am really glad to hear that!
I am not sure why and how exactly it got fixed. However, if you face the issue again follow the suggested steps.
