I did a webseries transfer yesterday and found out that maximum transfer speed is 4 Mb/s and that too on the USB 3.0 port. I read every article on web but found none useful.
Things I did:
1. Updated every single driver.
2. Uninstalled USB Controller from Device Manager.
3. Changed 3 flash drives still same transfer speed.
4. Tried to transfer from other 2 ports still left with same speed.
What should I do now? Thanks in advance.

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,
Flower_Bud is at your service.
As I understand, maximum USB transfer speed is 4Mb/s,
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824
(Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).
Have you attempted any steps on your own before posting on the HP Forums?
Are those USB Devices USB 3.0 Compatible?
Web series, just curious 😉 which ones are we talking about it? is it a TV series? While you respond to that, I've done my research and here are a few things you could do to resolve this issue:
Update BIOS: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629
Turn off Auto-tuning:
- Press Windows key + X and select Command Prompt(Admin).
- Type “netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled” and press Enter.
- Now try to transfer the files and check the data transfer speed.
- Again go to Command Prompt(Admin) and type “netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal” and press Enter.
- This will turn on the Auto tuning again.
Once I have the rest of the information, I'll look into this 🙂
Keep me posted,
Have a great day 🙂
Cheers 🙂

I see that you were interacting with @KrazyToad and @Flower_Bud, I'd like to help.
Thanks for the reply.
I appreciate your time and effort.
Run a extensive system test using hardware diagnostics to check for any hardware failures and let us know the results.
Follow the below steps to run the test:
-
In Windows, search for and open the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows app.
-
On the main menu, click System Tests.
-
Click the System Extensive Test tab.
-
Click Run once.
While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component are shown on the screen. The test can take 2 or more hours to complete.
-
If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) so you have it available when you contact HP Customer Support. The information is also available in Test Logs on the main menu.
You can refer this HP document for assistance on running the test:- https://hp.care/2yTWjBQ
Keep me posted.
Cheers.

Let's try these steps:
Note: Connect the USB device and then try these steps:
- To fix this click the Windows icon (start menu), search for open the Device Manager.
- In the Device Manager, expand Disk Drives to find your USB device. Right-click on the device and select Properties.
- In the Properties window, select the 2nd tab called Policies and you will see 2 options. Most likely if you are seeing the slow speeds, it is set to the default Quick removal.
- Simply switch the setting to Better performance and select OK. You will probably be prompted to restart the computer, and after you do, you should start to see substantially faster transfer speeds!
Also, try a different USB device.
Keep me posted,
Cheers 🙂
