i apologize if i didn't reply the previous time and thank you very much for your update regarding this problem. i tried to install the new version and it confirmed the update, but once i entered the bios by pressing F2 whilte restarting the PC, i am stuck at "Version 1.21.0.0 BIOS" as it has always been. i had tried to install version 6.9.0.0, it was giving me the update confirmation but again once i entered i was stuck at version 1.21.0.0. sadly i can't find a solution...

Hi,
Maybe I don't understand: you have not to enter in the BIOS, but in the hardware diagnostics utility!
On my notebook I restart the machine pressing repeatedly the ESC key until is displayed a menu on which you can choose wich utility you need to enter (BIOS, diagnostics, etc.); on my notebook the menu key associated with the diagnostics utility is the F2 key, but may be different on youy pc.
Regards

greetings, if I press F2 or esc key it's the same thing, esc key opens the menu and F2 opens directly the system diagnostic. I will add attachments. the problem is that I need to run battery calibration tool, which is supposed to be in the diagnostics, but as mine is outdated for some reason, it's not showing up.

I really don't know.
During the installation procedure you have choosen to install on the EFI partion?
Maybe your BIOS version is too old to support the new version of UEFI diagnostics tool; You coud try to install a new BIOS version...
The BIOS version installed on my notebook is F.29.
I hope you can find a solution to fix your problem.

You can install HP Hardware Diagnostics UEFI to a USB flash drive and run it from F2. I did it many times. Its installation size is only 200-300 MB. You can use version 6.9.0.0. When the installation setup asks you where to install, select USB, and the setup reformats the drive to FAT32 and finish the installation. Restart the laptop and tap F2 to open the Diag's UEFI from the USB then select your language and click Component Tests and choose Battery to start a test.
V.1.21 is a bare Borne version of the Diagnostics UEFI stored in BIOS. An old Pavilion I used to have had v. 1.16. A comprehensive version of Diag's UEFI is installed to EFI partition on the hard drive. This means the hard drive has to be GPT partitioned. Just wondering if your hard drive is MBR partitioned. But if the drive is on MBR, the setup would create a new partition called HP_TOOLS and install the tool there so I just don't know the cause of your installation failure. But the Diag's UEFI tool on the USB should work.
I'm not sure BIOS update can solve your problem, but this is the link for BIOS update.
