Started getting bsod: last 2 screens: Driver_IRQL_not_less_or_equal and special_pool_detected memory corruption.
Did factory reset, stopped in the middle of procedure and blue screen cameup
tried Hp recovery manager, made it thru reformatting the windows partition on hard drive
copied files and stopped at about 34% of reinstalling original software.
The diagnostics sent me here
it has: version 1.6.0.0-bios
memory test
hard drive check
Need help in taking the next step
I can access start up menu by power and then esc button and can use the F1-F12
I was in process of learning to zip mini dump files to show on the community HP board. Now laptop will not load, except preparing automatic repair, and get thru awhile til blue screen shuts it down
i have NO files to worry about and would just like a fresh start. The laptop had lots of memory as it was not used, til 2017 even though it was new in 2015

I assume F11 is no longer working to boot into Recovery? If you did not make Recovery Media I would contact HP to order it.

I have had a difficult time trying to order recovery media or even downloading from HP support.
couldn't find the info on my laptop if it is 32 or 64 bit. but have all the info like product # serial # model #.
unable to identify my laptop on the site. HP 15-1039wm notebook. Made in 2014, windows 8.1
I did take out the battery and hold down power button for 15 seconds. don't know that it did anything as windows did not load.
it seems that i should be able to download windows 8.1 on flash drive or cd, if i know the 32 or 64 bit.
my laptop is requesting an operating system

W
since 2009. I recommend using Windows 10 RS2 Version 1703/Build 15063 installation media opposed to Windows 8.1 installation media:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10ISO
Additional instructions are here:
The installation media is more up to date and if you use the Media Creation tool it is multi-Edition. RS2 installation media will automatically input your Windows 8.1 OEM Product Key from your UEFI BIOS and install the correct Edition of Windows 10.
hat do you think of this response from the microsoft community:
I will be very fortunate to end up with a CD and a running laptop. Will I end up with more problems upgrading. The simplest way seems to be sticking with 8.1, but I would love windows 10
Thank you so much for any advice, before I take the step to try and use the media creation
