@PRW17, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help resolve the issue where HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows fails to install on your HP All-in-One Desktop PC 24-cr0000a (76M83AV):

Ensure System Compatibility

  • Confirm that your system is running Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), as HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows is only supported on these versions.

Download the Latest Version

Run as Administrator

  • After downloading the .exe file:
    • Right-click on the installer.
    • Select "Run as administrator" to ensure it has the necessary permissions.

Disable Antivirus Temporarily

  • Some antivirus software may block the installation. Temporarily disable it and try installing again.
  • Don’t forget to re-enable it after installation.

Clear Previous Install Attempts

  • If a previous installation failed, it might have left behind partial files:
    • Navigate to C:\SWSetup\SPxxxxx (where SPxxxxx is the installer folder).
    • Delete any folders related to HP Diagnostics.
    • Reboot your PC and try installing again.

Use HP Support Assistant (Optional)

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
