Hi,

My questions are related to RAM and Graphics upgrades for my PC with the above configuration:

  1. I plan to add at-least another 8GB RAM to the 2nd empty slot. What kind of RAM would be compatible with the above-mentioned processor, motherboard and existing RAM i.e DDR3 1600 MHz, DDR4 1600MHz, DDR4 2133 MHz etc.?
  2. Which graphics driver version (if not a new graphics card) I could add to increase the existing configuration or the resolution to 1920x1080?
  3. Would it be safe to assume that - The new RAM and Graphics Card, whilst being compatible with the existing hardware would have to be compatible amongst themselves? As we can see that the Graphics Memory Type is DDR3 as well. Hence, if a DDR4 RAM is added, the Graphics Card should be a DDR4 as well??

Looking forward to hearing back.

Thanks in advance.

The following link shows the specs of your machine

   https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c03814848

and its manual

    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03939658.pdf

  1. For RAM: it has max RAM support already
  2. Resolution: No, no driver/video card can increase  its current 15.6" diagonal HD BrightView LED-backlit (1366 x 768) to 1920 x 1080. You need to replace the screen itself. Unfortunately no option shown on page 4 of the manual, the series only offers 1366 x 768. Changing video card means changing system board and the list is on page 74 of the manual.
  3. No, the system board will determine RAM type GGR3 or DDR4.

Regards.
