HP Pavilion - 15-p105nr
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hello. It's very sad, that there is no specification for 15-p105nr. So, could you help me please, I just want to know about the max RAM storage that may be installed in this Notebook. A lot of sites show me that maximum amount is 8 gb, but in the same time AIDA64 shows me 12 Gb max, and now there are two sets with 4 and 8 Gb in it, and, you know, it works! But I have a problem with turning off notebook, it can't do this properly. There are two ways either it turns on after few seconds after been off or it just can't turn off completly and stays on with power off to the display and to the OS. Also some unusual moments with overheating were conserned. So, I want to know the truth about max RAM and correctly fix rhe problem.

Hi:

I can't find any specifications for your notebook.

What model processor does your notebook come with?

Full model number and name of the processor, please.

Below is the link to the service manual.

According to the manual, chapter 1, pages 1 & 2, notebooks with two memory slots can support 2 x 8 GB of DDR3L-1600 memory.

Yeah, I see.  So, it's AMD A10-5745M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics. Motherboard name's HP 22C6. And, I suppose, I should notice, that current modules are KLLISRE KRE-D3S1600M/8G (ddr3l) and default Samsung M471B5173QH0-YK0 (ddr3) maybe they are uncompatable, ddr3 and ddr3l, what do you think?

Hi:

Yes, that is possible.

The service manual indicates that DDR3L-1600 memory is what is supported.

The Samsung memory HP installed is DDR3L-1600 according to this link...

Samsung M471B5173QH0-YK0 - 4GB 1600Mhz PC3L-12800S DDR3 204-Pin SODIMM Laptop RAM Memory Module - CP...

I would get a compatible 8 GB Crucial memory bar and try that instead of the one you bought.

Today I've tried to replace default 4 gb to another Samsung 4gb module, and it works! No issues with power supply. So, it means, that there is really incompatibillity with them. Also 'd tried that 8gb with another 1gb plat, and the same problem has been noticed. And the real cause of the problem keeps laying in shadow.
