@Polorolo,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Your HP Pavilion 17 cd0000ng (8BU83EA) requires the higher performance model SR04XL battery, with these specs: 15.4V, capacity: 70+Wh, 4 cells, such as this example: Amazon.com: Aluo SR04XL Laptop Battery compatable with Hp Pavilion 15-CB000 Power 15-CB000 15-CE015D....

You do not want battery model SR03XL, as it provides less juice: 11.55V, capacity: 52.5Wh, 3 cells.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

But why do my Pavilion 17 cd0000ng (956ONGW) contain the lower capacity SR03XL? I looked it up in my Energy settings and it showed me a capacity of 52.5 Wh which is the SR03XL. So i am capable of using the bigger Battery?

@Polorolo,

Both batteries have the very same format. SR04XL and SR03XL batteries are what is called substitutable, and the SR04XL battery lasts longer between charging, because of its higher 4-cell design.  Theoretically, you may gain 25% more capacity.
