Hinge issue in AU series Pavilion notebook isn't anything new. If you Google "HP AU series" then even the autocomplete would suggest you "HP AU series hinge issue". It starts with a minor crack at the edges of the hinges and spreads to the entire body.
I know at least 6 AU series laptop facing the same issue(and that's all the AU series laptop I know). I can show you those pics as well. But for now, I'm only sharing mine. Everyone has been very careful with the laptop and never dropped it. This is clearly a manufacturing defect from HP and HP should have recalled them.
They didn't recall it, FINE but if the laptop is under warranty and a case has been generated then the least you can do is replace the defective parts instead of brushing it off as customer induced damage.

My case ID is 5036447657. Even the onsite service guy who visited at my place assured me that it would be replaced free of cost but when he took the pics and forwarded it to HP for ordering the required parts. It got rejected and the reason was mentioned is "Customer induced damage" when it's clearly not. Started from hereStarted from hereLaptop works fine, it's just the displaying popping out due to pressure of the hingesLaptop works fine, it's just the displaying popping out due to pressure of the hingesA-3.jpgA-4.jpgA-5.jpg
