A couple of days ago, I noticed that my laptop's charging light started to flash orange and white instead of just staying orange when charging. I've tried looking up various solutions and came on posts that said something might be wrong with the battery. However, when I run the HP battery test, it says that my battery is fine. Does anyone know what the issue is and how I can fix it?

@ChaseG5, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Going through your post I see that the orange and white lights blink when the power cable is plugged in for charging. Let us try the following steps to isolate and resolve the issue-

Perform a hard reset-

Before power resetting your computer:

  1. Disconnect or remove all peripheral devices. Turn on the laptop, then test the computer by itself, and then reconnect one peripheral device at a time.

  2. Turn over the computer and look for a battery compartment door.

Set BIOS to defaults-

1) Shutdown the computer.

2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.

3) Press F10 once for BIOS.

4) Press F9 for BIOS defaults.

5) Press F10 to save and exit.

Also, try updating the computer -

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type, and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Step 2 HP Support Assistant Updates -

1) In the search box, type, and open HP Support Assistant.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
