HP Pavilion Notebook- Bios needs to be updated before you can upgrade to Windows 10 States to manually uninstall.   Says it is not compatable .    HELP

17-g121wm is the model and this is a link to the BIOS you need. Follow instructions. Download and run from Windows to update BIOS then try Windows Update again.

That is not the product ID of the laptop which we need to answer definitively, but if your laptop has an AMD processor and is fairly new there is a BIOS update you have to do in order to enable certain Windows updates. I will not link you to a BIOS download until I know the exact model of your computer and its current BIOS level which you can get from HP Support Assistant. It an easy fix once we have the info.

Model  AMD-A10-8700p Radeon R6  10 compute cores  4c+6G 1.80 GHZ

Windows 10 HOME     version 1607

Again that is not the model of the computer you are giving us. You have confirmed it is an AMD processor model and I am sure it just needs a BIOS update to install any higher version of Windows 10. You are like 3 builds behind right now. So again go into HP Support Assistant and look for the Product Number of the laptop. It will look like this:
