Yes.
Naturally, to upgrade the processor you will need to remove the heatsink and remove and clean all thermal material. When you replace the processor you will need to place thermal paste between heatsink and CPU. Use high quality thermal paste such as Artic-Mx4 and only place less than a grzin of rice.
Hope it helps,
David

Hi,
If you look on page 93 of service manual you can see the steps to upgrade processor. These are compatible with your system.
Intel Core™2 Quad Q9100 2.26-GHz with 12-MB L2 cache and 1066-MHz FSB 507947-001
Intel Core2 Quad Q9000 2.00-GHz with 12-MB L2 cache and 1066-MHz FSB 507948-001
Intel Core2 Duo T9800 2.93-GHz with 6-MB L2 cache and 1066-MHz FSB 507951-001
Intel Core2 Duo T9550 2.66-GHz with 6-MB L2 cache and 1066-MHz FSB 507953-001
The best is the q9100 which is quad core processor.

If the original CPU still works, it might be worth checking for a BIOS update for your device, just in case it requires one for a wider range of compatability with CPUs.
