Hey,

A family member gave me a Pavilion G6 which layed around for some time. I cleaned it and changed the thermal paste, hard drive and battery. Now I´m planing to upgrade the CPU from an i5 2450m to an i7 2670QM. The only question left is if the i7 is compatible with the notebook.

There are at least 10 different series/generations of G6 computers. What EXACTLY is the model/product of your machine ? Please check its label at the bottom.

Page 83 shows you part # and how to replace CPU (Processor)
