I want to replace the hard drive in my hp pavillion g6 (it has failed). I would like to replace it with a 2TB drive. Would there be any issues with the computer being able to handle that capacity?

Your product manual do not say that.
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03233548.pdf
Your Pavilion g6 can't handle >1TB single hard drive configuration,
If you try installing 2TB, it may show message while booting up to format your drive,
In short, it's not possible.
