Hi:

There is no service manual for your notebook.

The only one available is for the older 15-eg1000 model series on your notebook's user guides page.

According to chapter 1 of that manual, the notebook has two memory slots and supports 2 x 8 GB of memory.

I did find the product specs from HP for the model series and the memory information is still the same.

If you were wanting to install more than 2 x 8 GB of memory, you can run this command to see if that would be possible:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. After the command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

Thank you for your response, Paul. However, to my knowledge, the results of `getMaxCapacityEx` are not always accurate. On my laptop, it only shows 16GB, which corresponds to my installed capacity of 8+8GB.

Thank you, Paul. I've marked your response as helpful. Just tested it, and 16+16GB works perfectly.

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance and thanks for letting us know that 2 x 16 GB of memory works in the 15-Eg3000  model series.

Cheers,

Paul
