Hello,

So this morning when I turned on my laptop I noticed it wasn't getting charged even though it was plugged in. The laptop worked fine on the battery with no issues. When the laptop is plugged in a little LED beside the power jack is glowing.

The charger works completely fine, tested the output voltage with the multimeter and it was 19.5V like it is supposed to be, the laptop has it's own internal battery that I took out but the laptop still wasn't working but when I press the power button the LED besides the power turns on for a split second.

What could be causing the issue if it's not the battery or the power?

Thanks in advance!

Worst case its the motherboard but could possibly be the power jack module which has been damaged so that power from the adapter is not making its way into the motherboard.

Item 6 p. 25 of the Service Manual here:

This part is cheaper and easier to replace than the motherboard but is hardly ever the problem. Much more likely to be the motherboard but for a few bucks if you can replace the part yourself well worth the effort and small cost.

Thanks for the reply, I hope it's just the power jack since the laptop was running fine while on the leftover battery power.
