I am experiencing exactly the same problem for a second time now in feb 2018. I had this problem in oct 2016 and HP support in Turkey had replaced the battery under guarantee program. Now I have to consider replacing at cost. But before replacing I want to be sure that battery is really dead. So I will continue to use my 16 month old battery for some time more;continue to do battery tests and calibrations and observe. I will appreciate any comments and recommendations. I will also appreciate recommendations on battery brands

Welcome to the HP Forums, this is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you are getting battery issue on HP Pavilion x360 issue. I would like to help you resolve this issue.
However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,
- When did this issue start?
- Did you do any hardware or software changes?
Meanwhile
I have a few steps listed below that should help you resolve this concern:
- Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.
- Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.
- Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager,
- Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.
Click here and refer the hp document for more assistance.
Let me know how it goes.
Cheers.

Well yes! Thank you.
This time I have followed your below quoted procedure recisely and it worked. Now battery icon reading is "5 hr 12 min (92%) remainig Battery saver on" I hope problem does not come back. If it does I will try the same procedure and reply agian.
As for your questions: As I had noted in my initial post my battery was repllaced by HP support under guarentee on october 2016 due to the same problem. The problem popped up about ten days ago: that is when the new battery got 460 days old. By then it was charged 281 cycles. Since then I have done just one SW change: While trobleshooting with MS telephone support and based on their instructions I have setup Win 10 with sw they have uploaded to my desktop. After that I had occasional signs of recovery but the problem kept coming back. Let me note also that my bios version is F3.37.
Now before I close I would like to ask two things. While I am writing this note I keep checking the battery icon message and I see that it oscilates between 4 hr and 6 hr. Is this normal? Further, when computer has shut down unexpectedly due to low battery charge on several occasions, I had started manuel calibrations and in these I darined the battery totally using extensive disk tests. In these I have noticed that draing processes took nerly 3.5 hours hence does this mean that battery is OK? Finally is mine a battery problem, a Win10 problem or a HW problem?
Thanks
