Hello ! I am THIEN

I need support. I have problems upgrading "RAM" for HP X360 14 DW-1018TU computer

My problem is as follows:

I installed 1 "RAM DDR4 16GB BUS 3200" for my computer but could not start the computer, then I reinstalled the old RAM (2x4gb) and the computer worked fine. I repeated many times but still could not Boot when installing 1 “RAM DDR4 16GB BUS 3200”. I installed it correctly in the slot indicated “ONE DIMM ONLY”. I have tested the hardware that can receive up to 32GB/2RAM (Maxcapacity:33554432-memoryDiveces:2).

Then I tried with NEW 8GB 3200 RAM and the situation is the same as above, the device cannot boot. I reinstalled 4GB RAM 3200 SK HYNIX and it ran fine.I don't know where the problem lies, I need help and opinions. Thanks

I have solved my problem.

I contacted RAM stores and they exchanged me CRUCIAL brand RAM (same specifications as the CORSAIR RAM I bought before). After installing CRUCIAL, press the power button and the computer will run immediately without needing to RESET BIOS or anything else. Currently I am installing 2 Crucial ram sticks (2x8gb)

The problem I need to solve is: my computer is not compatible with CORSAIR RAM (although the parameters are compatible), this can only be my particular model HP X360 11th 14DW-1018TU, not all All HP machines, so if you want to upgrade RAM, you should go to the store so a technician can install it and handle it quickly in cases like mine so you don't waste time changing it.

I also found on another forum a case where the DELL computer did not boot after installing CORSAIR ram like mine. So I'll make a note for you to take a look at.

Thank you for accompanying me in this incident.

The memory modules you used probably are not compatible with your laptop.

"RAM DDR4 16GB BUS 3200" is not the way to provide a description of a memory module.

Always describe modules usnig the  the brand,  rank, bandwidth(speed in Mhz),  CL and vDIMM voltage.

When upgrading memory I always  want it to work the first time.

I upgrade with either an identical module as the original one or remove the original module and install two guaranteed compatible memory modules.

My method always works.

Guaranteed compatible memory
Kingston memory

I have checked the RAM compatibility with my device but still do not understand where the problem lies. Please give me more opinions on this issue.
RAM information I bought:

Corsair Vengeance DDR4 8GB 3200MHz 1.2v CMSX8GX4M1A3200C22

Did you ask Corsair if the memory is compatible with your device?

See if you can return the memory and get some the vendor guarantees is compatible with your laptop.

If the memory is not compatible that isn't something you can change.

You already know it isn't compatible because the laptop won't boot to Windows.

You are upgrading your memory the hard way.
