Good morning,
I have a question about an old HP Pavilion dv1000 laptop.
I would like to upgrade the processor in it.
It has a motherboard DAOCT6MB6F1 rev: F, HannStar J MV-4 94V-0 0609.
The socket is fitted with an Intel 1.66/2M/667, LF80539 T2300 processor.
Which processors would be compatible with this board. What is the maximum frequency supported by the bus?
Thank you very much in advance.
Sincerely,

You're very welcome.
If you have the notebook apart, perhaps the chipset number will be printed on one of those black chips on the motherboard.
Since it has a T2300 processor, it should have the Mobile Intel GM945 or PM945 chipset.
That chipset will support 667 MHz processors up to the T7600.

Hi:
Run this free utility that I zipped up and attached below and let me know what model Intel chipset it has.
The service manual doesn't even list your notebook's currently installed processor as one of those supported.
Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)
The specs for your notebook's processor indicate it has a FSB speed of 667 MHz, so I would imagine that you would be limited to upgrading the processor to those that have FSB speeds of 667 MHz, which definitely leaves the T8100 out.

I understand clearly, so I have to limit myself to the FSB frequency of 667 MHz. Unfortunately, I will not install the application you sent, because my laptop is now completely disassembled. The data I uploaded was read physically directly from the motherboard and from the processor.
How else can I find out what chipset the board is using? Is it also written somewhere on the board? Or can someone find the Chipset by the marking of the motherboard?
The T5550 processor should also meet the parameters, at least I hope so, because I have it available, but I would prefer if I could put the most powerful one that the motherboard allows.
I suppose the T7600 could also work, but the description says 64-bit instruction set, the original T2300 has 32-bit there. I don't understand it and I don't know what the difference is or if it's compatible.
Thanks,

I found a chip on the motherboard: Intel BGA IC NH82801GBM SL8YB. That should be it, so it's different than expected.
It is this one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331100073634
And how much RAM can I use at most?
Thank you.

I think you're good.
The only part of the number you need is the SL8YB.
Intel® 82801GBM I/O Controller
The Intel 945 chipset uses the ICH7M controller hub.

You're very welcome.
2 x 1 GB of DDR2-5300/6400 memory for sure.
The chipset supports 2 x 2 GB but the dv6000 models needed a BIOS update to support that, and your notebook's model series probably never had a BIOS update to support 4 GB of memory.
The latest BIOS update was from 2006 and added support for the Intel Core Duo and Core Solo Processors, which is probably why your notebook has the T2300.

The BIOS update for the dv6000 that added support for 2 x 2 GB of memory was more recent than 2006.

Well thank you very much for the quick replies. I did not expect such quick support. It helped me a lot.
Now it's up to me to replace the processor and reassemble the laptop. I'm putting it together from two that were intended for parts, so hopefully it will work.
So I assume that the RAM will also run at 667 MHz.
This means that the bios should be updated. Yes, I also have the dv6000 (6700) models and there the bios was apparently updated, but not by me. I'll play around with that.
Thank you once again.
