You're very welcome.

I was thinking that SP1 may have been included in the disk, but I wasn't sure.

I haven't used XP in many years.

Yes, anything you do with a 64 bit operating system has to be done on a 64 bit operating system.

If you were to run an XP 64-bit installation disk on your PC it will give you an error.

Well, I just managed to do the AHCI slipstream and created a bootable ISO (on the 32-bit XP). But I screwed up by simply not doing the SP2 integration which it wouldn't let me but apparently was supposed to be a prerequisite, but I created the ISO anyway and even successfully installed the OS (but on the second try, on the first try it showed up during installation blue screen - blue death, but the second time with absolutely no problem). I just hope that it will be without problems, it should be enough to try it out. I will install SP2 later.
But now I would like to know if I can install the 32-bit version and the 64-bit version on the same HDD and thus have the option of choosing between the two systems at startup. If it were possible, it would be crazy. But now I would perform the slipstream cleanly according to the instructions even with SP2 on the XP 64 bit that I have now installed or on another PC.

Hi:

I wouldn't know how you would do that.

You can see if this would be of any help.

Installing XP as a second OS (neosmart.net)

Hi, can you please tell me where I can get the WindowsXP-KB955704 64 bit update (EXFat file system support)? Apparently it's not in the Microsoft catalog. I just don't know if this update is included in SP1 or SP2. That's why I'm looking for her.

I already had one WD Elements 5TB external drive connected and working with it, but the other two Seagate 5TB drives won't connect, it says they are not formatted, which is stupid, I have data on them, the filesystem format but now I don't know . I don't know exactly how it differs from the WD Elements.

Yes, by the way, after installing SP2, the sound was enabled for me, but in such a way that of course the volume control does not work, because I do not have any of the functional drivers (I first installed the ones for the 32-bit version, it was installed successfully, it did not report anything). But at least the volume can be controlled in Windows Media Player. They probably won't be able to find any other drivers for the 64-bit version, I haven't found anything reasonable yet. Could you please advise where I could find something?

Thanks for this at least, but the previous link probably won't help me much, because it deals with installing Win XP as a secondary OS on a computer where Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 is already installed.
But it doesn't matter, I wouldn't deal with that now.
Now I wondered if it would be possible to run the other OS from the HDD connected via USB when I select this option in the bios. But whether it can cause some problems in the existing system. (So that I don't have to constantly shuffle both HDDs).

Hi:

I just checked this link, and it has the download for KB955704.

It's for Windows Server 2003 x 64 so it may work on XP x 64 too.

Update for Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition (KB955704) - Microsoft Download Center Archive - Legacy U...

As far as drivers are concerned, HP used to have XP 64-bit drivers on some business class notebook with the same chipset, support pages, but I just checked, and they are gone.

So, unfortunately my hands are tied as far as finding 64-bit drivers for your notebook.

You can try booting your other drive from a USB port, but I doubt it will work.

So I downloaded and installed the update. But unfortunately it didn't help. Windows XP 64 Bit should support GUID partition table (GPT) and Hard drives greater than 2TB, but I don't know if this also applies to USB external drives. Only the WD Elements with the NTFS file system still work for me, unfortunately eXFat still doesn't work for me, but I don't understand why. This update was supposed to support it, but maybe only for HDDs but not external drives. It seems that I want too much from such an old device and OS. Now I'm thinking about choosing Win Vista or Win 7, but I don't want to give up just yet.

I'd go with a newer operating system, and it might be easier to find drivers for it and whatnot.

I understand that completely. I will probably come to that too and I will have win xp just as a retro simulation of this laptop.
But for now, I'll still try to find something.

Hello,

So I've come to the point of trying to install Windows 10 on an SSD, but I ran into a problem. But it seems that the disk was successfully accepted by the laptop, the windows system files are successfully copied to the SSD, but it is not possible to continue the installation.

When installing the Win 10 64 bit version, I got this message and I can't continue:
A media driver (such as a DVD, USB, or hard disk drive) that your computer needs is missing. If you have the driver on a CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, insert the media into your computer now.
Note: If your Windows installation media is a DVD or USB flash drive, you can safely remove it for this step.
