HP Pro x2 612 G2 & USB-C Dock
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

While having an HP Pro x2 612 G2 connected to the USB-C dock, 2 HP E271 displays(one using DisplayPort and the other using HDMI to DVI), having the lid settings changed in Windows to "do nothing while plugged in," the machine works just fine with the tablet display disabled and the 2 displays set to extended.

Once I turn the machine off and try to turn it back on, it will not respond to the power button being pressed while the lid/collab keyboard is closed even with it plugged into the USB-C docking station and still connected to the displays.

If I crack the lid/collab keyboard by as little as half an inch, it powers on, shows the HP logo and then blinks off and shoots the signal to the connected displays.

I have searched Windows settings and BIOS for a setting to change this.

Is anyone familar with this tablet and the settings related to the docking station?

Attached are pictures of what I mean when I say the lid is closed and when it will turn on. Closed.JPGCracked.JPG

If you have the keyboard attached to the unit and the keyboard is closed the power button will not turn on the unit.  This is by design because the power button is exposed on the side of the unit.  This prevents accidental activation of the power button if for example the unit is being carried in a bag and the power button is pressed.

In the BIOS settings (F10) you can change the Boot Options.

Look in the "Advanced" section, Boot Options.  In the list you will see "Power On When AC Detected", check this option.  This will allow the unit to power on when you plug into your HP Elite USB-C dock.

Certainly not ideal, but thanks very much for the answer, Joel.
