Hello once again!
I recently asked a specific question for stacking up RAM of my HP ProBook 430 G5 (2VQ01ES#ABD) as an upgrade with 16 GB of Kingston low-latency memory did fail due to the low latency times compared to the OEM RAM modules. The previous thread was solved as I didn't know about HP's binding to standard latency RAM, it can be found here: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/ProBook-430-G5-won-t-start-wit...
So a few days ago, I ordered the exact RAM modules which were suggested to me (Timetec Hynix, 2x8GB, PC-2400 CL17 DDR4). Unfortunately, the same problem occurs. The notebook won't boot and flashes an error code again, regardless if both RAM slots are occupied with a module or just a single one. Change it back to the OEM 4GB single module, works fine. The notebook should be able to take up to 32GB, so 16GB shouldn't be a problem.
I'm really confused now, as the explanation I got sounded very reasonable to me, but now I'm facing the same problem again however. I'd kindly ask you for help again, as I really don't want to buy a third set of RAM modules that refuses to work with my small notebook. 😊
Best regards,
Florian

To be sure is to be sure, please check existing RAM on your machine and buy same specs (larger capacity) OR using parts on page 35 of the following manual
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05695299.pdf
or RAM from the following vendor (guaranteed compatible when you order)

Regards.

Thank you for your prompt answer!
The only question left is, why the manual you sent me prescribes to use DDR4-2133? This on hand probably could be the issue why the newly bought RAM isn't working. But on the other hand, and that's kind of hard evidence, Crucial suggests DDR-2400 when using the link provided by you and even the OEM Samsung RAM it the notebook is working with now is DDR4-2400: https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/dram/module/M471A5244CB0-CRC/
I really don't get this.
Edit: Just went through the manual, it says DDR4-2133 is default clock, and DDR4-2400 can be used if the notebook runs on an 8th generation Intel Core CPU, which is indeed the case for mine. So let's hope the best for the next pair of RAM modules.
But if Crucial guarantees compatibility, I will order a pair of their RAM modules.
Best regards,
Florian
