Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Having a few power related issues on my HP Probook 4530 - when my AC adapter is plugged in, it will sometimes show up on the tool bar that the battery is charging. At times though, it won't show the battery is charging at all. Is the problem coming from the battery, AC Adapter or both? Before I go on replacing the part want to know for sure.

Hello @itsjvdonato89,

Try testing the hardware in the HP UEFI Diagnostics:

  1. Repeatedly press Esc upon startup
  2. Select F2 (System Diagnostics)
  3. Select the desired language
  4. Navigate to component tests
  5. Select Battery and AC adapter

Note that the above steps may vary depending on the configuration and some tests may not be available.

You may need to update the UEFI Diagnostics (probably available on your Software and Drivers page) to see more available tests.

Kind regards,

Eddy

Thank you so much. I did try the test out and only option available was the battery test - which came out good, no problems with the battery. Which leaves me to believe that I just need to replace the AC adapter.

Hello @itsjvdonato89,

Hopefully, it really was just the AC adapter.

Let me know if you need any help finding an original replacement or require information regarding the AC adapter.

Best regards,

Eddy
