Hi, if the HP Simple Save is not working you can try using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool to see if it can fix the issue.

If the challenge still persists, there is a Windows 10 Installation disk you can get from Amazon. I can share the link with you if you are okay with purchasing it.

Apologies for jumping in unannounced.
If you are asking about using HP SimpleSave software to Restore files from that program's backup, the following might be relevant.
Note
Ignore anything not relevant, unwanted, already tried, or otherwise "not the point"
=======================================================================
The SimpleSave software is long, long unsupported.
HP SimpleSave is not - and never was - supported in Windows 10.
If SimpleSave was working in Windows 10, "good enough" - it should not have done so, in fact.
What to do?
You could try unplugging the SimpleSave drive
Restart the computer and log in
Reattach the drive and see if you can get into the drive to access the software.
What else?
The best option, if you can get a hold of a Windows 7 computer, is to attach the SimpleSave drive to that Windows 7 system.
Open the drive, Open SimpleSave, and use it to Restore your data / folders / files.
Where to put the restored data?
Honestly, it does not matter where you put the data as long as you can get if off that SimpleSave drive.
Assuming you can retrieve your data, transfer it to a USB stick, to a Cloud Storage, "somewhere" where you can access the files.
What?
SimpleSave was proprietary software - bad enough, but it also encrypts the data that is backed up.
In other words, you need the SimpleSave program to get to the data.

When / if you manage to retrieve you data, stop using SimpleSave.
Use anything else, in fact. The software was not evil, but using it was certainly fraught with risk.
