Hello, My battery has deformed.  I went to on of the authorized service agents for an estimate.  They suggested that I check with HP to see if I could mail it in for repair first.  HP closes the ticket every time I put in a work order with for the battery without sending me an email or calling me to tell me why.  Is the HP Mail in service available?

Not sure about the process that you have tried.

Normally, when the device is in Warranty, you would submit your case online > After submission Contact options for your region should be displayed.

That said,  HP has provided the following:

===============================================

"Fat" Battery / Bloated Battery / Swollen Battery – Sealed / Internal Battery

  • Swollen battery might be hiding OR there might be evidence that the battery has inflated.  For example, notebook case is warped, touchpad stops working, “odd” bulging near the keyboard.

  • If the battery is in a swollen or bloated condition, the battery must be removed from the computer and replaced.  There are no other remedies, tests, or useful options.
